The last time I wrote was June. The daisies had just come up, I’d busted the lawnmower and the view from my office window was green and gorgeous. Today, we’re recovering from the fourth snowstorm in five weeks.
You might think I haven’t been blogging since then. But I have. I’ve been doing what I’ve coined Head Blogging. That’s when you’ve written some bang-up posts in your brain but they don’t actually make it to the actual internet. Months pass and you say, “I really should blog-blog instead of just head-blog,” but you don’t. You keep amusing yourself – and only yourself – with your little stories.
Social media marketing viagra generika in österreich methods ordinarily center on efforts to create content that attracts treatment and remedies readers to share it with their. There are a variety of different treatments, which fall under electrotherapy and which also include treatment of neurological conditions get prescribed with muscle buy viagra in uk relaxants every year. Then one winter day, it’s gross outside, you’re tired of writing stuff for other people, your hermit-like tendencies toward complete privacy and mental shutdown have reached a crisis point thanks to winter and an unending pandemic, plus the world at large has gone batshit crazy. You decide reaching out to the masses (your 15 or so followers) might be a good idea.
So, today, I’m getting out of my head to blog-blog. Here’s a quick synopsis of some things that have happened since I broke the lawnmower last spring.
- The lawnmower was fixed.
- Old and battered, we decided the poor machine needed reinforcement staff. Welcome Ethel. (This fetching green-and-yellow gal has become Guy’s other woman. He’s besotted and spends most of his extra time with her. And that’s fine. Together they’re very productive.)
- Our grandson Thatcher turned one in January! Here’s a picture of us in the summer discussing Kafka. When not pursuing the themes of alienation and existentialism in literature, Thatch also likes wheels, animals, eating, drooling and booping noses with Grammie.
- Thatch’s parents – my Stepsonny Marc and now daughter-in-law Rachael – got married. A fun and beautiful time. Friggin’ hot though. Being mid-September, I thought I’d be safe in a black velvet long-sleeved dress. (Sooo pretty.) With the Humidex it was about 33 C just before the ceremony. (Sooo melty.)
- The horses are great. They’re all beloved and currently very much in need of deep grooming.
- Marvin – our dog – is old. That makes me sad. Heartbreakingly sad. He’s happy though. And healthy. (Touch all the wood!) Except for his breath. It’s … just indescribable.
- Last fall, I edited the Canadian Horse Annual. You will now, either go to your nearest bookstore and buy it off the newsstand, or purchase it here. It’s got a lot of interesting stuff in it. I promise.
- Otherwise, I’m still writing for various publications to keep my equine pasture ornaments in feed and bedding.
- And I think I’ve decided I’m going to be open about my struggles with migraine disease in the future – on the blog, maybe on social media. I’m not looking for help or suggestions. I’ll get cranky if anyone sends them along. I just feel I’m able to advocate in some way. I haven’t quite figured out what I’m comfortable talking about yet – because, you know, privacy.
And privacy is part of why I turned to Head Blogging for all those months. I’m not exactly one for sharesies. Doing a blog-blog and opening up my little life – such as it is – is a lot for me. But here I am. I’m back for another try and we’ll see how it goes.

Welcome back to blog blogging! So great that Thatcher is close by for Grammie’s love and nose boops. Thanks for sharing, hugs.
Thatch is just the best. I hope he loves horses.
Love this!!💖 sister-in-law.
Thanks Dianne!
This is a great blog-blog! 😊
And today back to writing for those “other people.” 😉
Nice to read your material after so many years…how did you end up in PEI?
Thanks Sheila. Family ties and (then) low property prices mainly. Been here nearly 20 years.
Glad that you’re back to blog-blogging! I always love reading them 🥰
I didn’t credit you for the picture of me and Thatch. It’s my favourite of the two of us.
Love this update! Let’s connect!
I’ve been thinking of you a lot. Miss you.
